BlockReel in New Orleans is seeking an entry-level Gaffer for a short film to be shot over 3-4 days in late October 2026. The daily rate is $300-500, with craft services and lunch provided on set.

You'll execute the lighting plan under the Cinematographer, manage lighting equipment, ensure safety protocols, and collaborate with camera and art departments on a cinematic, naturalistic look.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of lighting principles and how to shape mood.
• Ability to adapt lighting on set and troubleshoot.
• Portfolio demonstrating lighting work on previous projects.
