Job summary

Shaw’s and Star Market is seeking a Front-End Team Member to support smooth checkout experiences and friendly customer interactions in Bangor, ME. You will handle transactions, assist customers, and help keep the front end clean and organized all shift long.

You will rotate between tasks like scanning items, bagging groceries, restocking, and maintaining the checkout area while staying adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older (or 18 depending on local/state requirements)
• Completion of company cashier or front-end training upon hire
• Basic math and communication skills required
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Prior customer service experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Handle transactions accurately (cash, card, digital payments) and assist customers at checkout
• Bag groceries, collect carts, restock supplies and maintain checkout area
• Keep front-end organized, clean and running smoothly throughout shift
• Respond to customer questions and resolve simple pricing or service issues
• Adapt to changing priorities and varying customer flow during shifts
