Safeway in Fairfax, VA is hiring a Front-End Team Member to create a smooth checkout experience for customers. You’ll be the friendly, efficient point of contact at the register, helping complete purchases and answering questions to end visits on a positive note.

You’ll keep the front end organized and busy, rotating between scanning, bagging, cart collection, stocking, and maintaining the checkout area in a fast-paced environment. A flexible schedule and basic math skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Friendly, clear communication during checkout and assistance to customers.
• Proven ability to process transactions accurately across cash, card, and digital payments.
• Attention to pricing, scanning, and order completion with minimal errors.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Scan items and process purchases at the checkout.
• Bag groceries and assist with efficient checkout flow.
• Collect carts and maintain cleanliness around the front-end area.
• Restock supplies and ensure checkout area is organized.
