Job summary

Americold is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to repair and maintain forklifts and other material handling equipment across our warehouse network. You will perform routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting while keeping accurate maintenance records.

Responsibilities include battery and charger maintenance, testing equipment performance, tool care, and safety testing to ensure OSHA-compliance. Must be able to work in cold storage and on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year forklift maintenance experience or 2 years other mechanic experience.
• Complete assigned technical training and/or mechanical-electrical courses.
• Complete HAZMAT training and maintain certification.
• Basic computer skills for email, internet searches, and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and perform routine repairs on forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to ensure OSHA/compliance with standards.
• Maintain batteries and chargers in working order according to OSHA standards.
• Test, maintain, and evaluate equipment performance using appropriate testing instruments.
• Maintain tools and machinery in good condition and use equipment as instructed.
• Conduct safety equipment tests to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records within the maintenance management system.
• Keep work area clean and organized; perform housekeeping duties as required.
• Work flexible shifts if required, including on call.
