Job summary

SNA International seeks a bright, collaborative Forensic DNA Scientist 1 to support the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory (AFDIL) in Dover, DE. The FS1 will perform entry level evidence maintenance on a wide range of complex samples and ensure compliance with accreditation and SOPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree with relevant experience in forensic science.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• General knowledge of forensic DNA analytical methods.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain forensic evidence and chain of custody in accordance with SOPs.
• Accession evidence in the LISA system and manage transfers.
• Photograph evidence and prepare documentation for case tracking.
• Assist in casework involving nucDNA and mtDNA analyses.
• Travel to investigation scenes to collect biological specimens when required.
