Job summary

Amentum in Forest Park, GA seeks a DNA Examiner to support exploitation missions. You will generate STR DNA profiles, analyze data with probabilistic genotyping software, and maintain strict chain of custody across evidence and documentation.

Current opening is part of an evergreen pipeline; expects ongoing work with CONUS/OCONUS deployment. Minimum 1 year in a forensic lab and a BS in biology, chemistry, or forensic science required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of independent DNA analysis in a forensic lab.
• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or forensic-related field with genetics coursework.

Responsibilities

• Examine evidence with firearms and latent print analysts to plan collection.
• Maintain proper chain of custody.
• Collect DNA samples using approved procedures and package/store properly.
• Capture images of evidence with photography equipment.
• Generate STR DNA profiles from evidence and references.
• Analyze data with probabilistic genotyping software.
• Annotate case files and generate reports detailing methods and results.
• Perform administrative and technical reviews of reports and worksheets.
• Perform instrument maintenance.
