Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services seeks a Chemist I to perform routine chemical analyses on foods under supervision, ensuring accuracy and peer-reviewed results. You will maintain laboratory procedures, instruments, and quality systems in an ISO 17025 accredited environment, handling inventories and ensuring clean, compliant work areas.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biochemistry, occasional travel, and adherence to state regulations.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biochemistry required.
• Experience with analytical procedures and laboratory instrumentation is assumed.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 quality systems is relevant.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine chemical/physical tests and analyses of foods.
• Verify results and provide peer review of results.
• Maintain expertise in analytical procedures and instrument technology.
• Ensure quality assurance and compliance with ISO 17025.
• Manage equipment and reagents inventories and maintain clean, orderly work areas.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
