Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Flood Compliance Analyst in Buffalo, NY, to assess flood-related regulatory requirements and support the review and approval of non-consumer loans from Commercial, Business Banking, and Private Banking units.

The role involves monitoring adherence to Regulation H flood obligations, documenting processes, and implementing improvements to ensure timely loan reviews in the pipeline. Strong communication and underwriting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 4 years’ higher education and/or work experience.
Strong presentation skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Legal or Insurance background (preferred).
Underwriting experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

Monitor business unit performance and regulatory adherence for loan closings and portfolio maintenance.
Review approved credit requests to determine applicability of Regulation H flood for Commercial, Business Banking and Private Banking.
Assist with process improvements for timely review of pending loans in the pipeline.
Document key business unit processes and assess risks and internal controls.
Plan, execute and report on flood insurance reviews for credit facilities.
Research flood insurance regulatory requirements and escalate changes with the Flood team.
Adhere to risk/regulatory standards and escalate issues to management.
Promote belonging and the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain internal control standards and address audit points.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
