Job summary

Herc Rentals Inc. in Morton, IL is seeking an entry-level Mechanic C to support fleet maintenance and keep equipment on the rental ready line. You will learn SOPs at branch, region, and national levels while performing preventative and corrective maintenance under supervision.

Responsibilities include routine oil/filter changes, inspections, battery and electrical checks, and contributing to safety standards. This is a full-time on-site role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Own a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools.
• Ability to drive and operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment.
• Some knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems; willingness to read schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on Herc-owned fleet per schedule.
• Operate and test equipment to meet safety and quality standards.
• Inspect batteries, hydraulics, tires, hoses, and fittings for issues.
• Enter work orders and maintain service logs; assist with parts as needed.
