Job summary

City of Lakeland seeks an Automotive Technician to perform skilled preventive maintenance and repair on light, medium, and heavy vehicles. You will work with ASE-certified staff, use OEM manuals, and ensure quality and safety in every repair.

This position requires diagnosing issues, ordering parts, maintaining detailed work orders, and assisting with major repairs. A valid Class A CDL and a high school diploma or GED are preferred, along with owning proper tools.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of work experience repairing and maintaining automotive equipment or completion of an automotive program.
• Completion of automotive vocational coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair, service, and perform preventive maintenance on gas and diesel vehicles.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot components and systems.
• Verify warranty details with shop foremen.
• Order parts and verify receipt before installation.
• Complete work orders detailing repairs and fluids used.
