Job summary

BankUnited is seeking a Junior Securities Portfolio Analyst to support the Chief Investment Office with periodic reporting and quantitative analysis of the fixed income portfolio. The role involves collaboration with Investment Office, Credit, Operations, and Technology teams to monitor performance and implement data-driven insights.

The ideal candidate has strong quantitative skills, proficiency in Python, SQL, and Excel, and familiarity with AWS, Bloomberg, and Intex/CAS tools.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of work experience required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Econometrics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• Experience with structured products a strong plus.
• Experience with CAS and/or Intex a plus.
• Experience working with data using Python (NumPy, Pandas, etc.) strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with AWS Cloud Services (EC2, Lambda, Athena, Glue, Redshift) a plus.
• Strong quantitative skills.
• Comfortable using Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Excel VBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain portfolio reports using database management and analytical tools including Python, AWS, SQL, Bloomberg, CAS, Tableau, and Intex.
• Perform and document investment analysis, credit stress scenarios, and interest rate shocks on fixed income securities purchases and sales.
• Assist Portfolio Managers in managing quarterly securities portfolio valuation process.
• Work closely with Portfolio Managers on portfolio construction, investment strategy, and performance assessment using data and statistical analysis.
• Participate in special projects requiring computational and quantitative analysis.
