Job summary

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking an entry-level Fish Culturist to support fish production and hatchery operations essential to Wyoming’s sport fishing and native fisheries restoration programs.

Responsibilities include care, propagation, and rearing of fish across life stages, facility maintenance, and assisting in breeding and distribution to stocking sites. CDL may be required for certain locations, with travel possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Fish or Wildlife Biology.
• 0–2 years of progressive work experience in Fish or Wildlife Biology.
• Valid driver's license.
• Education & Experience Substitution: 3–5 years in Fish or Wildlife Biology.

Responsibilities

• Produce fish for sport fishing programs and native restoration.
• Care for eggs, feed and thinning, and distribute fish to stations.
• Operate distribution units and assist in facility maintenance.
• Keep daily records and assist in station planning.
• Attend trainings and meetings to stay updated on fish culture.
