Job summary

Indiana Michigan Power Company is seeking an entry-level Fire Protection Technician Jr for the Cook Nuclear Plant in Michigan. You will perform fire prevention walkdowns, conduct inspections, and support fire protection programs while undergoing on-the-job training to achieve Fire Responder qualifications.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, Firefighter I & II (or related cert), and valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Michigan Fire Fighter’s Training Council Firefighter I & II or equivalent or an associate’s degree or related certification.
• At least one year of firefighting experience or two years of related technical field experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform fire prevention inspections and walkdowns to ensure compliance with Fire Protection Program.
• Provide fire watch for impaired fire protection systems, structures, and components.
• Complete on-the-job training to become a Fire Protection Technician and meet qualification timelines.
