Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of related experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Must obtain ICC Fire Inspector I within 3 months of appointment.
• Must obtain Utah Fire and Rescue Academy Fire Inspector I within 12 months.
• No felony convictions within past 7 years.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or have work permit.

Responsibilities

• Perform entry-level technical duties in fire prevention and inspection.
• Review fire protection system drawings and construction plans for code compliance.
• Inspect existing and new buildings during construction for life safety compliance.
• Conduct routine fire and life safety inspections and document findings.
• Maintain data and reports on inspections and prevention activities.
