Job summary

Texas Water Development Board seeks an entry-level Financial Examiner to perform financial examinations, reviews and compliance monitoring for entities funded by TWDB. You will work under supervision, evaluating assets, liabilities, and compliance with covenants while preparing summaries and reports.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and some experience in accounting or auditing; certifications and training are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Insurance, or related field.
• Experience with financial examinations, accounting, or auditing.
• Education and experience can be substituted for each other on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Conducts financial examinations with the assistance of others.
• Conducts financial reviews of entities that have received financial awards from TWDB.
• Evaluates recorded assets, liabilities, surpluses, and capital for compliance with statutes, rules, and regulations.
• Verifies the accuracy of records, work papers, and related financial statements.
• Prepares worksheets and summaries of financial examinations.
• Maintains required certifications and licenses.
