Job summary

Intertek-PSI in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Field Technician I to perform testing, observations and site assessments under supervision. The role supports construction materials testing and related services, with on-site duties and detailed reporting expectations.

The position requires a High School/GED, a valid driver's license and basic math, calculator, and computer skills. Training will be provided, with potential overtime and outdoors work in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record.
• Basic Math, Calculator and Computer Skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal & written communication.
• Willing and ability to work off shifts and overtime.
• Ability to lift/move 30 to 50 pounds frequently and work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of testing, project observations and site assessments under supervision or from controlled procedures.
• Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (soil, concrete, etc.) and report data.
• Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams to guide work.
• Observe site activities and perform tasks with limited interpretation of results.
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
• Ensure safety practices and policies are followed at all times.
