Job summary

Automatic Data Processing, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Field Service Technician I to support installation, maintenance, and repair of TARGAN systems at client sites. You will work under supervision to learn procedures, troubleshoot equipment, and develop foundational technical skills in the field.

Located at the client site in Blackstone, VA, this full-time role offers hands-on training, travel as needed, and clear opportunities to progress toward independent field work as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics, Industrial Systems, Electrical Controls, or related field preferred.
• 0–2 years of technical or field service experience.
• Equivalent experience or technical training may be considered.
• Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of TARGAN systems.
• Support Senior and Intermediate FSTs during service visits.
• Learn and follow standard troubleshooting procedures.
• Develop understanding of mechanical, electrical, and system operations.
• Assist in performing preventive maintenance tasks.
• Maintain tools and equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Participate in travel and support schedules as required.
• Assist in completing Service Request Orders (SROs).
