Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Entry Level Field Engineer to support field operations and office engineering on transportation and heavy civil projects across multiple locations. The role requires travel/relocation as business needs dictate, with base compensation in the 82,000–91,000 USD range.

Responsibilities span field operations, office engineering, and estimating, including takeoffs, plan reviews, scheduling, and safety compliance. A civil engineering related degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel and relocate as required.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
• Experience in infrastructure/heavy civil projects preferred.
• Strong safety mindset.
• Ethics, integrity, and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews.
• Prepare work plans and work packages.
• Conduct quality inspections.
• Order and schedule material deliveries.
• Assist with field surveying and JHA prep.
• Document schedule progress and quantities.
• Supervise field operations.
• Perform takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Do basic engineering calculations and drafting.
• Update data in job cost system and review cost reports.
• Maintain project records and submittals.
• Generate change orders and as-built data.
• Provide field support and supervise subcontractors.
• Review data and costs for bid prep.
• Complete plan/spec reviews and assess risk.
• Do material takeoffs per bid documents.
