Job description

We are seeking an Entry Level Field Engineer to support foundation and heavy civil construction projects from initial planning through completion. This role is suited to a recent graduate or early-career professional with a degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or a related discipline, along with a strong interest in working on active construction sites. The successful candidate will gain practical experience in site operations, project coordination, quality control, and the delivery of technically demanding foundation systems.

Responsibilities will include assisting with daily field activities, reviewing drawings and specifications, monitoring subcontractor and crew progress, and helping ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project requirements. You will collect and maintain field data, prepare reports, track quantities and production, support material testing and quality inspections, and communicate updates to project managers, superintendents, consultants, and trade partners. The role may also involve assisting with surveying, layout, scheduling, cost tracking, equipment coordination, resolving field issues, and documenting changes or potential impacts to the project.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a comparable technical field, or be on track to complete one. Previous internship, co-op, or construction site experience is beneficial but not essential. Strong communication, organisation, problem-solving, and attention to detail are required, together with the ability to interpret technical drawings and use standard computer applications. Familiarity with construction management software, scheduling tools, surveying equipment, or CAD applications is an advantage. You must be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, travel or relocate to project sites as needed, and work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends. A commitment to workplace safety, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous learning is essential.
