Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. seeks an entry-level Field Engineer to assist Project Managers and Superintendents on construction sites. You will monitor activities, coordinate deliveries, and ensure work aligns with drawings and contract specs.

Travel and relocation are required, with a focus on safety and quality. You will review surveys and drawings, prepare material lists, takeoffs, and assist with change orders.

Qualifications

• Must have good communication skills with all levels from client to workers.
• Strong computer skills and ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform math at college level.
• Engineering/Construction degree preferred or 2 years field experience.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Project Management to meet job specifications.
• Review data, prepare itemized material lists and takeoffs.
• Purchase, expedite and receive materials to meet deadlines.
• Analyze blueprints and prepare estimates for bids or installations.
• Generate drawings on-site for change orders or modifications.
• Ensure compliance with specs, safety rules and codes.
