Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. seeks an entry level Field Engineer to work with Project Managers and Superintendents on site, monitoring activities, reviewing drawings, and ensuring adherence to codes and safety standards. Candidates must be willing to travel and relocate as needed.

Responsibilities include material take-offs, purchasing, expediting, and on-site drawing generation to support project bids and installations, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Eng or Construction Mgmt preferred, or 2 years field exp.
• Strong verbal and written communication across all levels.
• Experience with Primavera and Expedition is a plus.
• Able to read/interpret blueprints and use college-level math.
• Willing to travel and relocate as required.

Responsibilities

• Work with Project Management to ensure job specs are met.
• Review data to prepare itemized material lists.
• Purchase and receive materials to meet deadlines.
• Perform take-offs and verify quantities for timely orders.
• Review received parts for correct specs and resolve issues.
• Analyze drawings and specs to support bids and installations.
