Job summary

Tandem Diabetes Care in San Diego, California is seeking an entry-level Failure Investigation Technician to support the evaluation of returned medical devices in an FDA-regulated environment. You will apply electrical and mechanical knowledge to determine the cause of failure, assist in verification testing, and document findings for trending while upholding Privacy/HIPAA and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or equivalent in relevant tech preferred.
• 1 year experience in a technical role in medical devices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform the failure investigations of returned insulin pumps and disposable devices.
• Document findings and provide data used for trending.
• Conduct verification testing of returned medical devices to approved protocols.
• Review manufacturing history to identify lot-to-lot correlations for root cause.
• Investigate component level failure analysis to determine performance and failure modes.
• Interpret electrical schematics to support troubleshooting of electromechanical devices.
• Ensure compliance with Privacy/HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
