Job summary

SIG SAUER, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Facilities Mechanical Technician I for the 2nd shift.

The role focuses on general building and equipment maintenance in a modern manufacturing and office setting, with autonomy under supervision and teamwork with Facilities and other trades. The ideal candidate has 0–2 years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and basic knowledge of building systems, PLCs, and reading blueprints.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, 0–2 years experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
• Basic understanding of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
• Basic knowledge of programmable logic controllers.
• Basic problem-solving abilities for technical issues.
• Ability to read drawings/blueprints.
• Training in Microsoft Office, BMS, CMMS to a basic user level.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical inspections of the facility, grounds, premises, common areas, restrooms, mechanical spaces, etc.
• Aid in manufacturing production equipment repairs. Initiate repairs when recognized and perform overall inspection of the work completed.
• Interpret schematic diagrams to identify repair components and to correct malfunctions and abnormalities.
• Assess and determine proper welding methods when required along with an ability to weld ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspection of assigned equipment in accordance with maintenance schedule and factory specifications. Report findings and take appropriate actions for repair.
• Supervise outside contractors and tradespersons. Report any issues with contractors to Supervisor.
• This position is traveling and must travel between all SIG locations per schedule.
• Engage in Continuous Improvement projects/tasks and 5S Standards.
• Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
