Job summary

City of Mill Valley is seeking a dependable Maintenance Worker I to support the Community Center and Aquatics & Fitness Center. You will perform basic facility maintenance, custodial tasks, and assist with repairs to keep spaces safe, clean, and welcoming for residents and visitors.

As an entry-level role, you will learn under supervision, handle weekend shifts, and gradually gain independence in tasks such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and routine upkeep of pool, spa, and kitchen

Qualifications

• Completion of the twelfth grade or equivalent.
• One or more years of experience performing semi-skilled building trades and facilities maintenance.
• Experience with hand and power tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect facilities regularly for safety and cleanliness.
• Perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks.
• Carry out custodial duties: trash removal, cleaning, vacuuming, window washing.
• Maintain building systems such as heating, cooling, flooring, and gutters.
• Assist with room and event setup and respond to service requests.
• Maintain logs of maintenance activities and supplies.
• Support pool and spa operations and kitchen equipment upkeep.
