Job summary

United Water Conservation District is seeking an entry-level Facilities Maintenance Worker based at the Lake Piru Recreation Area. You will perform a mix of skilled and unskilled tasks to keep District facilities and grounds clean, safe, and operational.

Duties include painting exteriors, lawn care, minor repairs, vehicle operation between sites, and assisting in water system tasks. A high school diploma is desirable; one year maintenance experience preferred; California driver license required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning/building maintenance methods, materials, and tools.
• Knowledge of groundskeeping methods and safety practices.
• Arithmetic including measuring and calculation; read safety instructions.
• Ability to follow instructions and work with others or alone.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facilities and grounds in neat condition; paint exteriors and clean areas.
• Perform groundskeeping: mowing, trimming, irrigation repair, herbicide spraying.
• Operate district vehicles between sites; service small equipment and machinery.
• Assist in installation of water system piping and collect groundwater samples.
• Complete training on safety topics, including confined spaces.
