Job summary

Comprehensive Prosthetics & Orthotics in Peoria seeks an entry-level Fabrication Technician I to support the fabrication, modification, and repair of orthotic and prosthetic devices at our Peoria fabrication lab. You will learn from experienced technicians while helping produce devices that support patient mobility, comfort, and independence.

Some CAD experience is required; prior orthotics/prosthetics experience is not.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in learning hands-on fabrication work.
• Experience using CAD software through coursework, training, internship, employment, or hands-on projects.
• Ability to read measurements and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Attention to detail and willingness to practice new skills and accept feedback.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and availability to work on-site in Peoria.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced technicians with fabrication, modification, and repair tasks.
• Prepare materials, supplies, tools, and work areas according to fabrication instructions.
• Assist with reviewing, preparing, and updating digital fabrication files using CAD software.
• Learn to mix and pour plaster and prepare molds and positive models under supervision.
• Measure, cut, trim, sand, and finish assigned materials after instruction.
• Learn and assist with thermoplastic forming, component assembly, and other fabrication processes as training progresses.
• Use hand tools, fabrication machinery, and specialized equipment only after training and authorization.
• Check assigned work against instructions and raise questions or concerns when needed.
• Record completed tasks and communicate progress to help meet production deadlines.
• Maintain a clean workspace and follow equipment care, safety, infection control, and company procedures.
