The Boeing Company in Mesa, AZ is seeking an Entry-Level Fabrication Specialist to join the ACFC team. You will develop lay-up and assembly setups, troubleshoot composite parts, and support various processes including autoclave, GFM, and other methods.

Ideal candidates will have strong teamwork, communication and leadership skills to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while preparing and painting composite components. Security clearance is required to apply.

Entry-Level Fabrication Specialist (Preparing and Painting)

Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Entry-Level Fabrication Specialist to join the Air Dominance Operations team working in the Advanced Composite Fabrication Center (ACFC) located in Mesa, AZ!

This position will require strong teamwork and communication skills to effectively work with the build team to support various proprietary programs. Ideal candidates will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develops lay-up and assembly set‑ups and techniques for the fabrication of composite structural and assemblies.
  • Sets up and troubleshoots composite parts for assembly or layup.
  • Assembles, lays up, or supports via autoclave, GFM, and other processes the fabrication of parts and components.
  • Identify nonconforming detail parts, assemblies and processes.
  • Work with engineering to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Fabricate composite detail parts using various pre-preg composite materials and/or wet layup processes.
  • Locate station lines, index points, and E.O.P lines to establish exact locations of ply installations and components.
  • Assemble and install detail composite and metallic components by bonding, sealing, cementing, and riveting to engineering specifications.
  • Set up, weigh, mix and apply composite adhesives per engineering and company specifications.
  • Prep and apply required release agents to composite prototype and or production tooling per company specifications.
  • Working knowledge of composite material bonding best practices, FOD control and prevention.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • Must have High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Must have related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience related work experience in Composites
  • Must have experience interpreting and working from blueprints, sketches and written and verbal instructions, in English
  • Must be able to work any shift (1st or 2nd shift)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Experience with set up and operate of GFM (ply cutter)
  • Experience with set up and operate of automated fiber placement
  • Experience with aerospace or automotive spray painting operations
  • Conflict Of Interest: Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process
