Job summary

The Boeing Company in Mesa, AZ is seeking an Entry-Level Aircraft Machinist to join the Air Dominance Operations team in the Advanced Composite Fabrication Center (ACFC). This role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to engineering specs while performing CNC, water-jet, and ultrasonic machining.

Candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance, and are available for 1st or 2nd shifts with travel up to 10%. Please apply by Sept. 15, 2026.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

  • Must have experience with CNC machine operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • CNC machine operations (Trim and Drill).
  • Water-jet machining operations (Trim).
  • Ultrasonic core carving and composite machining.
  • Fabricate, modify, and repair metallic or composite production and aircraft parts and assemblies using manual or CNC mills, lathes, jig bores and grinders.
  • Identify nonconforming parts and assemblies and processes.
  • Work with engineering to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Set up and use a variety of precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, protractors, calipers, bore gages, and other related close tolerance measuring equipment.
  • Develop layouts required to fabricate machined parts. Plans sequence of operations; makes calculations for tapers, angles pitch root and thread diameters dimensions, and cuts.
  • Set up equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders and drill presses; determines proper tool sequence for machining prototype detail parts.
  • Ensure all work is free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and complies with engineering specifications.
  • Report all non-conformances to supervision.
  • Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to safety officials or supervision.
  • Reports on job status and restraints to coworkers and supervision.
  • Recommend design changes to engineering and manufacturing staff.

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Entry-Level Aircraft Machinist to join the Air Dominance Operations team working in the Advanced Composite Fabrication Center (ACFC) located in Mesa, AZ.

This position will require strong teamwork and communication skills to effectively work with the build team to support various proprietary programs. Ideal candidates will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Position Responsibilities:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

  • Must have High School Diploma/GED or equivalent

  • Must have experience with CNC machine operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Available to work any shift (1st or 2nd shift)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance

  • Experience with setup and operation of CNC machine operations (Trim and Drill)

  • Experience with setup and operation of Water-jet machining operations (Trim)

  • Experience with setup and operation of Ultrasonic core carving and composite machining

Travel:
  • This position requires travel up to 10% of the time

Summary pay range:

Level A USD $45,050 - $60,950

Level B USD $54,400 - $73,600
