Job summary

Matrix Service Company in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an Estimator I to collect data and develop project cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and tooling. You will update costs as project scope evolves and support the Engineering division with organized estimates.

The role requires interpreting technical information, evaluating project requirements, and applying engineering knowledge to produce accurate estimates. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or related field) required.
• 0-2 years of field/office experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction and Commissioning work and terminology.
• Good basic mathematical comprehension.
• Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Actively supports safety and Matrix Service Core Values.
• Represents the Company with high integrity and ethics.
• Maintains confidentiality of information and client data.
• Prepares estimates by calculating material takeoffs for piping, structural steel and electrical.
• Prepares takeoffs and enters items into estimating software; solicits pricing from subs/vendors.
• Attends site visits as directed by senior estimators or management.
• Performs other duties as required.
