Job summary

Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level Environmental Scientist for our Danville, VA office. The position will perform groundwater sampling, wetland delineation, and reporting in support of site investigation and remediation assignments in VA and NC.

The Scientist must be flexible, client focused, and capable of working independently under the supervision of project managers, handling field support and technical writing.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Environmental Science or Geology.
• 0-3 years of related experience, a plus.
• Knowledge of Virginia DEQ, North Carolina DENR and US Army Corps of Engineers regulations a plus.
• MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and Adobe Acrobat proficiency.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or ArcGIS a plus.

Responsibilities

• Field sampling and contractor oversight in VA and NC.
• Meet project, client, and regulatory deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and agency staff.
• Compose technical reports, memoranda and emails.
• Handle multiple concurrent projects and support Practice Leads and Management.
