Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist based in Loveland, CO, to support environmental investigation, remediation, and compliance projects for government and private-sector clients.

You’ll predominantly perform fieldwork, gain hands-on experience in sampling, data collection, and remediation system monitoring, and spend substantial time in the field with some office tasks for data management and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field.
  • 0-2 years of environmental, engineering, geology, scientific, or related field experience.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate field documentation.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift and carry field equipment and sample coolers weighing up to approximately 40 pounds.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including hardhats, safety glasses, gloves, safety-toe boots, and respiratory protection when required.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Colorado, work early field schedules, and occasionally stay overnight near project sites.
  • Commitment to working safely and protecting subcontractors, coworkers, clients, and the public.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist, to support environmental investigation, remediation, and compliance projects for government and private-sector clients.

Based in Loveland, CO (LVD), you'll support primarily fieldwork and some office tasks associated with environmental site characterization and remediation projects. Working alongside experienced technical professionals, you'll gain hands-on experience in environmental sampling, field data collection, subcontractor oversight, and remediation system monitoring. At least 85 % of your time will be spent in the field, with the remaining time supporting data management, report preparation, project documentation, and field logistics coordination.

This position is ideal for a motivated early-career professional who enjoys fieldwork, problem-solving, and learning from experienced environmental practitioners.

Ideally, you'll also have
  • Experience using GPS units, mobile data-collection applications, field meters, or similar equipment.
  • Experience completing field logs, inspection forms, or other detailed documentation.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Experience with environmental sampling or field data collection.
  • General equipment maintenance experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The base salary range for this position is $58,656.00 to $87,890.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
