Job Overview
Entry Level Engineering Process Technician needed for an 18‑month contract to hire opportunity with Yoh’s client located in Santa Clara, California.
Shift Schedule
Mon‑Thu 3 pm‑1:30 am (10‑hr swing shift)
Fri‑Sun 7 am‑8 pm (12‑hr day)
Mon‑Thu 5 am‑3:30 pm (10‑hr day)
Pay Rate
$28–$32 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Prepare samples for experiments, including coating, wafer cleaving, mounting/unmounting, and job preparation to evaluate process system performance.
- Prepare TEM lamella samples using focused ion beam (FIB), optimize sample preparation procedures and conditions, and identify cutting locations based on pattern instructions.
- Operate metrology tools in the FIB & TEM lab to measure critical dimensions, identify patterns of interest, evaluate image quality, and determine optimized conditions; complete requested jobs with limited supervision after training.
- Understand the basic principles of SEM, FIB, and TEM.
- Perform SEM/FIB system and routine maintenance procedures such as flash, plasma cleaning, and image calibrations.
- Practice routine troubleshooting, identify problems, restart or standby the tool, and coordinate instrument repair and maintenance.
- Interface with requestors, understand detailed requirements, communicate results, and coordinate with engineering on job request status.
- Help monitor the job queue and maintain lab throughput.
- Document lessons learned to lower redo rate.
- Adhere to lab protocols and SOPs.
- Operate supportive metrology equipment in a lab environment.
- Monitor data and track performance of metrology equipment and production activities per equipment requirements.
- Understand written instructions to perform assigned tasks.
- Create and update procedures and documentation.
- Perform basic operations of Microsoft Outlook and Office software; follow safety protocols and processes.
Qualifications
- Good understanding of how the team integrates with others to achieve objectives.
- May provide informal guidance and support to more junior team members.
- Proficient in analytical processes or procedures to carry out assigned tasks.
- Provides solutions to atypical problems based on existing precedents or procedures.
- Uses communication skills to regularly exchange information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Technical diploma, skills certifications.
- Years of experience: 2–4 years in a related role.
