Job summary

Yoh Services LLC is seeking an Engineering Hardware Technician for an 18-month contract-to-hire assignment in Santa Clara, California. The role focuses on metrology and analytical tools support, repair, and system recovery, with a 12-hour night shift from 6pm to 6:30am.

The ideal candidate has a recent electronics degree or 3-4 years of experience, familiarity with semiconductor processes, and strong documentation and communication skills. Pay ranges from $26 to $31 per hour.

• Understanding of safety and cleanroom protocols.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary support for metrology and analytical tools and equipment.
• Perform repair and system recovery on equipment; work with OEMs to troubleshoot.
• Maintain professional interaction with internal teams and external vendors (OEMs).
• Log tool-related activities in the designated database; coordinate with OEMs on shifts.
• Conduct daily walkthroughs of assigned buildings/equipment to monitor status.
• Organize and schedule preventive maintenance (PM) on tools; record data for stability trending.
• Notify and schedule repairs/PMs; escort OEM suppliers; participate in training.
• Update equipment status and repair records daily.
• Maintain and organize supplier manuals; mentor junior technicians; perform system qualifications and wafer recovery tasks.
• Support customer management programs by documenting SPC runs and equipment status.
• Other duties as assigned.

Engineering Hardware Technician needed for an 18‑month contract to hire opportunity with Yoh's client located in Santa Clara, California

Pay Rate: $26 to $31 per hour

Shift Details: 12 hours compress night shift (6pm - 6:30am), Shift either Sun–Tues with rotating Wed

What You Will Be Doing

• Provide primary support for metrology and analytical tools and equipment
• Perform repair and system recovery on equipment owned; work with OEM to troubleshoot and investigate root cause
• Maintain professional interaction with internal teams and external vendors (OEMs)
• Log all tool-related activities in the designated database; coordinate with OEM suppliers at the start of each shift regarding onsite schedules
• Conduct daily walkthroughs of assigned buildings/equipment to:
• Monitor equipment status and all support equipment
• Organize and schedule preventive maintenance (PM) on responsible tools; perform SPC wafers and record data for tool stability trending
• Notify and schedule repairs and PM using the provided database; escort OEM suppliers and assist with technical support as needed; participate in on-the-job training for technical tasks and minor tool modifications
• Update equipment status and repair records daily
• Maintain and organize supplier manuals and documentation in electronic format; mentor junior technicians as required; perform system qualifications and wafer recovery tasks
• Support customer management programs by documenting SPC runs and equipment status
• Other duties as assigned

What You Need to Bring to the Table

• Recent college graduate in electronics or with 3-4 years of industry experience
• Basic knowledge of semiconductor processes and analytical equipment
• Understanding of safety and cleanroom protocols
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Detail-oriented with solid problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in an R&D environment; experience with equipment operation, calibration, and qualification; self-starter with excellent time management skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Familiarity with hazardous materials and SEMI E10 standards
• Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting
