The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) at Bettis Site seeks an entry level engineer to support mechanical, electrical, and software activities within the Shock and Vibration Methods and Testing unit. Responsibilities include designing and procuring test equipment, implementing Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures, and developing LabView software for NI control systems.

A bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering is preferred, with occasional travel to vendors and shipyards.

Job Description

The Technology Development Center (TDC) at the Bettis Site, operated by the Shock and Vibration Methods and Testing unit, seeks an entry level engineer to support mechanical, electrical, and software activities.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and procuring mechanical test equipment.
• Planning, troubleshooting, and implementing Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures for electrical systems and instrumentation work.
• Developing and maintaining LabView software for National Instruments control systems.

The ideal candidate will possess strong verbal communication and test engineering skills to plan and oversee laboratory test programs. Occasional travel to vendors and shipyards may be required for emergent testing. A bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering is preferred.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with LabView, MATLAB, ProE Creo or SolidWorks.

Pay Range

$63,900.00 - $97,800.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
