Job Description

Are you an entry-level Electrical Engineer or Computer Engineer with a strong interest in development, testing and support of embedded control systems? The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is a mission-driven organization that develops propulsion plant instrumentation and control (I&C) systems and training platforms for the U.S. Navy's Nuclear Propulsion Program. Electrical Systems Engineers are at the center of NNL's mission providing direct support for US Navy current and future surface ships, including Nimitz-class and Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carriers and the future Battleship platform. In this position, you will:

• Build on your Electrical/Computer engineering knowledge and develop strong Systems Engineering and troubleshooting skills
• Develop a deep understanding of the design and development of naval nuclear power plants and the functions of instrumentation and control systems to provide safe and reliable operation
• Interact directly with the US Navy's nuclear fleet to assess problems, provide emergent support, and develop and support training of sailors

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field.

Pay Range

$63,900.00 - $97,800.00 annually

Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
