Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to support Reliability applications, data integrity, and EMS tools for real-time grid operations. You will work on ensuring accurate models and data, and assist in troubleshooting EMS power flow results across key regions.

The role includes rotation in a 24x7 on-call schedule, with opportunities to grow in planning, modeling, and reliability engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (ABET-accredited).
• FE exam passed or pursuing PE licensure encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for Reliability applications and data integrity.
• Support State Estimator functionality in PJM, SPP, ERCOT; monitor data/model quality.
• Troubleshoot EMS power flow iteration results.
• Maintain solution quality for real-time system reliability.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.
