Zusammenfassung

Phelps Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician – Level 1 to support patient care in a fast-paced ED. Under supervision, you will perform vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, ADL assistance, wound care, and assist with exams and procedures, while ensuring patient safety and effective communication with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities include direct and indirect patient care, documentation in medical records, and adherence to infection prevention standards.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year experience in direct patient caregiving roles preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Missouri Class E driving license within 90 days of hire.
• CEVO certification within 90 days of hire or as classes allow.
• Mandt training course must be completed.

Aufgaben

• Performs direct patient care activities: vital signs, 12-lead EKGs, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, ADL assistance, wound care, splinting, crutch training, backboard/cervical collar/KED use; assists with exams and procedures.
• Performs indirect patient care activities: transportation, monitoring, answering call lights, stocking, cleaning, and coordinating patient flow; may act as ED Lead Tech.
• Documents all pertinent information in patient medical records and electronic health records in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates adherence to infection prevention, hand hygiene, safe handling and lifting.
