Job summary

V2X seeks an entry level Embedded Firmware Engineer I to join the Embedded Solutions team. You will develop firmware for ARM Cortex devices, implement SPI/I2C/UART interfaces, and assist with early hardware bring‑up in a defense/aerospace context.

You will work under guidance on real‑time systems, FPGA tasks, and testing, while contributing to documentation and cross‑functional reviews. This role requires U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field is required.
• 0–2 years of embedded systems, firmware, FPGA, or digital hardware experience.
• Hands-on experience with embedded firmware or software for microcontrollers or SoCs in C/C++, or FPGA/HDL development.
• Familiarity with version control and basic build/test workflows.
• Ability to learn and follow structured engineering processes and document work clearly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and collaboration.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD clearance are required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and debug embedded firmware and software in C/C++ (and Python) for ARM Cortex devices.
• Implement peripheral interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO) in real-time environments.
• Support hardware bring-up and lab verification with test equipment.
• Assist with RTOS or bare-metal real-time applications and deterministic behavior.
• Contribute to basic FPGA tasks in VHDL/Verilog and IP integration under guidance.
• Execute unit/integration tests, log defects, and assist in troubleshooting.
• Produce design notes, diagrams, test logs, and release checklists under guidance.
• Participate in peer reviews and Agile/phase-gate activities using Azure DevOps, Git, Teams.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and bring-up instructions per V2X processes.
• Adhere to safety, quality, security, and export control requirements.
