Altek Electronics, Inc. in Torrington, CT is seeking an Assembler I to assemble components into finished products according to detailed specifications. This entry-level position emphasizes accuracy, quality, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will use hand and power tools, read simple instructions, and follow safety and 6S standards. Prior manufacturing experience is helpful but strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints or assembly instructions.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• IPC-A-610 or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or the ability to obtain and maintain such certification.

Responsibilities

• Electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies
• Set-up and calibration of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies
• Manufacturing equipment operation
• Labeling
• Loading racks with parts for the Surface Mount technology machine, and returning parts back to stock
• Prepping or hand placing components
• May assist with rework on assemblies as a result of testing
• Assists in resolving routine manufacturing related problems affecting daily operations.
