Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking an Early Career Electrical Engineer (Generation) to join our Power & Energy team in Overland Park, KS (onsite). The role may also consider candidates in St. Louis, MO.

You will contribute to designing electrical systems for power generation projects, gain exposure to major capital projects, and work under the guidance of senior engineers to deliver safe, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• General understanding of electrical engineering in design of large capital projects.
• Familiarity with electrical laws, codes and record-keeping requirements.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail and multi-tasking.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing and common software tools.
• Familiarity with CAD, ETAP, and AutoCAD Electrical.

Responsibilities

• Detailed design of generating plant and renewable energy electrical systems under supervision.
• Electrical system upgrades under supervision of a lead electrical engineer.
• Develop one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, conduit sizing and routing, panel schedules, and specifications writing.
