Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer to support a wide range of electrical systems across submarine platforms. The role includes mentorship from an assigned engineer to build skills and independence.

You will contribute to reactor plant instrumentation, power generation and distribution projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while meeting schedule and budget constraints.

Responsibilities

• Design & Modernization: Perform initial system and component design upgrades for ship alterations and life cycle support.
• Project Engineering: Function as a project engineer overseeing all aspects of engineering tasks, including overall technical quality.
• Technical Problem Solving: Evaluate and provide technical resolutions to questions and problems from Naval Shipyards, Navy forces afloat, land-based prototypes, reactor plant prime contractors, and NAVSEA offices.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface with design teams, other engineering disciplines, technical writers, material buyers, and program office representatives.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively within the organization, as well as with NAVSEA, prime contractors, Navy shipyards, and equipment vendors.
• Project Management: Work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining strict schedule and budget awareness.
