Job summary

SmithGroup, located in Pittsburgh, seeks an Entry Level Electrical Engineer to join our team. Perform analysis, design and documentation of building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting and fire alarm design, under direct supervision.

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering, 0–3 years’ AE experience, and may hold LEED AP/ EIT. Revit proficiency and familiarity with SKM/AGI32 are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
• 0 to 3 years related experience (summer/co-op/intern in AE).
• LEED AP and Engineer-in-Training certification preferred.
• Familiarity with SKM, AGI32 or other electrical systems evaluation programs.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit software.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis, design and documentation of building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting and fire alarm systems.
• Develop solutions to electrical issues with integrated architecture and engineering project design teams.
• Design portions of projects under direct supervision.
• Perform production for assigned engineering work and document changes to drawings as instructed.
• Assist in preparation of presentation materials and reports.
• Assist in construction administration as directed.
