Job summary

HireTalent is seeking Electrical Engineers to support power generation facilities in Minnesota and Wisconsin. You will be the primary electrical engineering resource at the assigned plant, driving improvements in reliability, supporting operations, and managing capital and maintenance projects.

Responsibilities include leading upgrades from concept to completion, coordinating with operations, and ensuring projects meet safety, schedule, and budget targets.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer.
• Experience with utility, power generation, or industrial manufacturing.
• Experience with medium- and high-voltage equipment.
• Troubleshooting and reliability engineering experience.
• ABET-accredited program preferred for Electrical Engineering degree.

Responsibilities

• Serve as onsite electrical engineering expert supporting plant operations and maintenance.
• Lead reliability initiatives and troubleshoot plant electrical systems.
• Develop and manage electrical capital and maintenance projects from scoping to closeout.
• Support upgrades for switchgear, transformers, MV/HV equipment.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership to improve plant performance.
• Interface with contractors and project stakeholders; ensure safety, schedule, and budget compliance.
• Support outages, modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

Client is seeking Electrical Engineers to support one of four power generation facilities located in Minnesota and Wisconsin. These engineers will serve as the primary electrical engineering resource at their assigned plant and will play a critical role in improving electrical reliability, supporting plant operations, and managing capital and maintenance projects. The position offers the opportunity to lead electrical infrastructure upgrades from concept through completion while working in a highly collaborative power generation environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the onsite electrical engineering expert supporting plant operations and maintenance teams.
• Lead electrical reliability initiatives and provide troubleshooting support for plant electrical systems.
• Develop, scope, budget, bid, manage, execute, and close out electrical capital and maintenance projects.
• Support upgrades and replacement projects involving:
• Switchgear
• Transformers
• Medium-voltage equipment
• High-voltage equipment
• Other critical electrical infrastructure
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to improve plant performance and reliability.
• Interface with contractors, engineering consultants, subject matter experts, and project stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Support large-scale outages, modernization efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Must Have Skills:

• 1-3 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer
• Utility, power generation, industrial manufacturing, or heavy industrial experience
• Medium-voltage and high-voltage electrical equipment experience
• Troubleshooting and reliability engineering experience
• Familiarity with plant electrical systems and equipment
• Electrical Engineering degree preferred (OPEN to other similar bachelor's degrees) (preferred from an ABET-accredited program)
