Job summary

Alpha 3 is seeking a Drafter I to support designers and engineers on electrical substation, utility and infrastructure projects. A recent engineering graduate with interest in design in utility infrastructure fits well. This is a full-time, hybrid role located in Wilmington, DE.

The position emphasizes developing 2D/3D drawings, collaborating with a cross-functional team, and engaging with vendors to refine drawings as needed.

Qualifications

• CAD tools experience; MicroStation preferred.
• AS/BS in Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of drafting practices and procedures.
• Ability to work on multiple projects in a team.
• 2D and 3D drafting capabilities.
• Ability to accept feedback and implement changes.
• Strong time management and meeting deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with high quality workmanship.
• Associates drafting/design or related degree with drafting cert.

Responsibilities

• Use CAD tools to assist in substation project development.
• Create one-lines, schematics, layouts, site plans, and diagrams.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Coordinate with vendors and construction teams on drawings.
• Support onsite design walkdowns with the team.
