Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Technician 1 in Tysons, VA to assist in basic testing, maintenance, and installation of electrical equipment under close supervision.

This entry-level role provides foundational knowledge and growth opportunities within a dynamic engineering environment. The role supports experienced technicians and requires a high school diploma with related experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a background check and drug test.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years of related experience.
• Must pass a background check and drug test.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in testing and maintenance of site/field equipment.
• Support the installation, rearrangement, and removal of equipment and wiring.
• Perform basic testing, moving, and adjustments of equipment.
• Assist in field construction inspection to ensure compliance with NETA specifications and plans.
• Maintain records and report inspection activities.
• Understand and apply basic knowledge of mathematics, engineering measuring devices, and safety procedures (including LOTO).
• Prep equipment for testing as directed by the commissioning lead.
• Assist in the operation of load banks and equipment with proper PPE.
• Participate in Operational Risk Management meetings (ORMs).
