Job summary

City of Boerne is looking for an Electric Lineworker I to join the Electric Department. This role performs diversified work constructing, installing, and maintaining electric distribution systems at all voltages, including both overhead and underground lines, in a municipal setting.

Responsibilities include climbing utility poles, operating bucket trucks and other equipment, reading maps and diagrams, maintaining reports, stocking supplies, and providing timely customer service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and 2+ years as groundman or equivalent training.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution practices and safety standards.
  • Ability to read maps, interpret diagrams, and follow safety rules.
  • Valid Texas Class C driver's license; Class A/B CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in installing and maintaining overhead and underground distribution systems.
  • Operate equipment such as bucket truck, pole crane, and other large trucks.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and emergencies as needed.
  • Keep records and prepare reports; stock supplies in work truck.
  • Maintain safety and attend training seminars.
