PPG Industries, Inc is seeking an Entry Level Dye Technical Assistant to support process development, pilot-scale manufacturing, and commercialization activities in Monroeville, PA. You will assist with safe experiments, operate process equipment, document results, and help scale-up under senior staff.

You will sit in Monroeville and report to the Senior Research Manager, performing lab and kilo-lab tasks and contributing to continuous improvement in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• Less than 1 year of chemical manufacturing, lab, pilot plant, or related experience.
• Candidates should be safety-minded with good documentation and teamwork.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and attention-to-detail skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete laboratory and kilo-lab operations per procedures.
• Prepare raw materials, equipment, and documentation for development activities.
• Operate reactors, filtration systems, dryers, mixers, and supporting process equipment.
• Collect samples and submit for analytical testing.
• Maintain accurate batch records and laboratory notebooks.
• Support equipment cleaning, changeovers, and preventive maintenance.
• Follow SOPs, work instructions, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
• Participate in troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.
