Qualifications

• US Citizenship; BS degree (or 4 years of additional experience) required.
• 1+ year of professional experience in network or UNIX/Linux systems, software engineering or related field.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and security methodologies; ability to configure security solutions.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language; familiarity with reverse engineering and forensic tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct endpoint and network-based digital forensic analysis under supervision.
• Leverage forensic tools to perform analysis accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with maintaining the SOC's forensics lab equipment and imaging stations.
• Perform static and dynamic file analysis to identify malware characteristics and origin.
• Support categorizing, prioritizing and reporting security events per forensics SOPs.
• Assist with antivirus scans on maintenance software prior to enterprise deployment.
• Support pre- and post-travel scans of agency laptops and mobile devices.
• Document findings clearly in case notes and draft investigation reports.
