Job summary

Cottage Health in Santa Barbara is seeking an entry-level Sonographer I to join the Diagnostic Ultrasound department. The role involves operating sonographic equipment and assisting physicians to complete diagnostic procedures across patient ages. Strong anatomy knowledge related to ultrasound imaging is helpful.

Responsibilities include coordinating patient flow and producing quality images safely and efficiently, with supervision as needed. AHA BLS and RDMS/RVT eligibility are considered.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a two-year Allied Health Ultrasound Program (CAAHEP accredited) and one year of full-time, supervised scanning as a student sonographer in a hospital setting.
• Minimum: RDMS or RVT eligible; obtain RDMS or RVT registry within one year of hire; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Preferred: RDMS in abdomen, OB/GYN and RVT; AHA BLS.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient flow and responsible for producing quality images efficiently and safely.
• Assists physicians as necessary to complete diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures for patients of all ages.
