Baltimore County Sheriff's Office is hiring Entry Level Deputy Sheriffs. The role involves serving court documents, enforcing court orders, conducting investigations, and maintaining security in court facilities.

You will be responsible for transporting inmates and working with firearms under supervision, with a typical 40-hour week. The selection includes multiple examinations and a comprehensive background check, plus physical, medical, and psychological evaluations.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years old at appointment.
• Have a high school diploma, GED, or an appropriate equivalent.
• Be a citizen of the United States.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Pass the written examination.
• Pass the physical agility examination.
• Complete a comprehensive background investigation.
• Complete a psychological evaluation, polygraph examination and pass a physical and medical examination.

Responsabilités

• Serve summonses, writs, warrants, and similar court documents.
• Enforce court orders by making arrests, collecting judgments, and conducting sheriff's sales and le-vies.
• Conduct investigations related to Sheriff's Office business.
• Maintain peace and security of courts and staff.
• Maintain custody and transportation of inmates to courthouses and facilities.
• Carry and use firearms; operate county vehicles and communications devices.
• Complete written reports; serve as field-training officer for deputies.
• Assist in training and perform related duties as required.
